All Routes GPX format
All the routes for this event are supplied in a "Trip Planner" version designated by a "TP" suffix at the end of the route name. These routes use mostly shaping points for compatibility with Garmin zumo XT, 390 series, 590 series, as well as BMW Nav5 and Nav6. They work best with any Garmin GPS that uses the Trip Planner App on the device to access routes. TomTOM and phone apps work best with them as well, but they may calculate a little differently on older GPS units.

Distance choices: 96, 202, 239, 282 or 342 miles
Lunch Stop: You decide. After all, it’s a smorgasbord!
Direction from Lewisburg: NE COUNTERCLOCKWISE
Comments: As the name suggests you have a smorgasbord of route/mileage choices on this variation that includes five possibilities depending on your riding appetite!
Each of the five routes leave Lewisburg in a counterclockwise northern direction. If you want a shorter 96-mile ride, just make a left on 92 in Rimel and follow 92 to Marlinton and then 219 back to Lewisburg. This is a great loop if you want to get back to Sparta for lunch.
If you would like to double the miles (202) pass through Rimel and ride on to Monterey before cutting across the mountains to Thornwood via Mountain Turnpike (Rt 250). From Thornwood, 92 will take you through Marlinton and back to Lewisburg.
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous and want to expand your mileage to 282 or 342 miles you can press on and ride north until you get above Moorfield. By then, you might as well stop for lunch in Pittsburgh (kidding).
Regardless of which route you pick, all five of these provide excellent twisties and beautiful views of the Monongahela National Forest.

128 mi- The Rusted Musket 411 Guyandotte Ave Mullens WV 25882
Direction from Lewisburg: W COUNTERCLOCKWISE
Comments: The route starts out on 219 and US 60, picking up US 19 and going across the old Tunney Hunsaker New River bridge down at the river level providing a spectacular view of the newer high bridge from below.
Once across the river level bridge, the road becomes one way and when you get back up the hill you are at Fayetteville where you can catch an early lunch. This is a good plan as the next major part of the route runs through some sleepy WV towns that lack fuel and food stops, staying west of Beckley and winding down through Mullens, southeast almost to Princeton before picking up US 19 to Ghent.
You can opt for the Farley Branch shortcut road for a change of scenery. It comes back out on the route. There is a track for the shortcut and it is easy to take. Either way you come out on WV 3 where you can stop at the John Henry Historical Park (there's a waypoint at the entrance and a track you can follow if you want to stop at the memorial). From there WV 3 takes you back to Lewisburg.

Comments: This Route by Norm Kern uses most of Route 13, (including going past the John Henry Memorial at the Great Bend Tunnels. There's a waypoint at the entrance and a track you can follow if you want to stop at the memorial). This version adds about 40 miles of technical county roads in the last 75 miles. Have a good breakfast at the hotel. Start at 8-9 AM, maintain a good pace and don't stop for lunch and you'll arrive at the Swinging Bridge restaurant in Paint Bank between 3-4PM, where you can have an early dinner and beat the crowd. This is one of Norm's favorites!

Comments: This Route by Norm Kern starts out like Fall Colors Route 1 but goes north out of Marlinton instead of east. A few miles north of town you turn onto Back Mountain road for 34 miles of beautiful winding, county roads with no centerline. Much of it is smooth with good pavement, some less so, but it's all paved. The route rejoins US 250 just north of Durbin, following it northwest, then South on US 219. At SR 15 it rejoins Fall Colors Route 1 for the rest of the afternoon. If you love technical backroads, this route is a must!
