Riders in Ohio have two MSTA events to look forward to next weekend.
On Saturday, Aug. 15, MSTA members from southwest Ohio will gather for their monthly breakfast meet at the Village Family Restaurant in Waynesville, Ohio. The restaurant is located at 144 South Main St. and is set back a little from the roadway. Plan on being there by 9 a.m. for breakfast, with a group ride to follow at about 10 a.m.
The next day, central Ohio MSTA members are putting on a picnic lunch ride to Van Buren State Park in Van Buren, Ohio. Pack a lunch and meet up with fellow MSTA members at the Shell station at 5340 Tuttle Crossing Blvd. in Dublin, Ohio, by 9 a.m.
MSTA Ohio State Director Doug McPeek reported the central Ohio group’s July picnic ride featured “an intrepid group” of four riders who, despite heavy rain in the forecast, decided to ride to see, “how far [they] could get.” The group met at the Circle K in Johnstown, Ohio, on the morning of July 11 to ride to Guilford Lake State Park near Lisbon, Ohio. The group made it as far as a ridge northeast of Coshocton, Ohio, before spotting a line of storms and changed course. The new routing worked out, as the group enjoyed mostly skies and dry roads as it traversed the east-central and southeast Ohio countryside.
