All Road Routes GPX format
All Dual Sport Routes GPX format
All GPX routes for this event are "Trip Planner" versions that use mostly shaping points for compatibility with Garmin zumo XT, 390 series, 590 series, as well as BMW Nav5 and Nav6. Therefore we have dropped the TP suffix on route names. These routes work best with TomTOM and phone apps as well. Older GPS units also work with these routes, but with minor differences in routing.

Comments: - if you are not from Colorado or even if you are, this is worth your time to visit the cliff dwellings. Paleo-Indians began inhabiting the area in 7500 BC. The area was abandoned around 1285 AD. Discovered in 1889 by a rancher, the cliff dwellings are located on top of a Mesa and were occupied for 600 years. Once you turn off leaving Hwy 160 and entering the Park, it is a beautiful and gradual ride up to the top of the Mesa where there is a Visitor’s Center and a short hike down to the Dwellings.

Many moto-journalists consider this section of US-550 their most favorite riding road in the entire country! Ride early in the morning, north bound, less traffic.

Comments: For experienced off road/adventure riders, the Alpine Loop should be a must. Much of the Loop is relatively flat, gravel, small rocks, but as you summit the two passes, Cinnamon and/or Engineer Pass, the trail is steeper and includes 180 degree turns. (Momentum and traction are key.) The complete loop is doable for experienced riders. If you are a beginner or inexperienced, you can choose to ride whatever part you deem yourself capable and turn around at any point. Not reaching the summit is okay. If you choose Engineer Pass, this will lead directly into Lake City.
