Event Previews August 2023

Eagle Quest (Road, ADV)
August 3-6, 2023 Milford, PennsylvaniaIf you’re not from the area and thought that NY and NJ were nothing but urban sprawl – get your butt up here, and we’ll show you some wilderness, cliffs, and maybe some Bald Eagles. You won’t be in any city traffic, but on a clear day, you can see NYC from the top of Perkins Memorial Drive. If you are from the area, come on out and meet some other sport touring riders. Have dinner with us at the historic Dimmick Inn & Steakhouse, in Milford, or perhaps the Carriage House in Barryville, NY. We have prepared several street routes, 100 to 250 miles. Routes will be available on printed maps and GPX files. Destinations/overlooks/stops include: Hawks Nest Highway, Bethel Woods (Woodstock), The Roebling Aqueduct, Sugar Loaf NY, Perkins Memorial, The spectacular Route 106 thru Harriman State Park, Storm King Highway with the overlook over West Point, Greenwood Lake, The Dingman’s Ferry Bridge.

Kentucky Red River Gorge Rally (Road, ADV)
August 10-13, 2023
Mt Sterling, Kentucky

The 2023 edition of the Red River Gorge Rally is on! Note the location change from last year. Come ride the great roads of Eastern Kentucky with us! Mt. Sterling is located about 30 miles east of Lexington, Kentucky. (STAR 2005 and 2013) along I-64. The 2023 Kentucky rally is open to all motorcycle riders, regardless of club affiliation. There is no rally fee for this event, however we will be collecting donations for the Dan Clark Safety Fund (suggested donation of $10, all donations will go to the fund, so please give what you can) at the rally. Custom suggested routes will be available for download to GPS devices. The location was chosen to take advantage of the many twisty and scenic roads that are found in the eastern part of the state.

Hotel Contact Person: Ashley Quiroz. Call the hotel at directly to make your reservation. Do not book online. They have set aside 25 double queen bed rooms for us. All rooms not reserved by August 1st will be released. We have a group rate of $84.59/night for double queen rooms. To get a room at this rate you must call hotel and ask for a room in the MSTA block. A full breakfast is included in the room rate. Convenient dining- the popular Cattlemen’s Roadhouse is located next door to the hotel. Good steaks, salad bar, burgers, full bar etc. There is also a Cracker Barrel nearby and a couple of gas station/convenience stores. FlyBy Week (Road, ADV)
August 21-27, 2023
Marietta, Ohio

FlyBy Week offers top notch routes, scenery, fine dining, and social time in a location that is easily reachable by most of the membership. Lasting a full week in Marietta, Ohio, attendees are free to come as early as they wish, stay a few days or the whole week. This year offers a selection of 31+ routes on the fantastic roads of Southeast Ohio and West Virginia, including 8+ adventure routes. Monday-Thursday: there are dinner tours to nice restaurants/pubs in historic downtown Marietta with transportation arranged so attendees can enjoy an adult beverage and not have to deal with riding gear in the evening. Friday and Saturday: we are not having included meals for 2022. Many attendees prefer to ride long routes on the weekend and would rather catch a bite to eat on the fly. Wings Etc., a sports bar with an extensive menu of good food is located just across from the hotel.

Tuesday-Saturday: relax and meet new friends at the Outdoor Lounge, located behind the hotel with tables, chairs, pop-ups,
coolers etc.
Thursday-Saturday: free 20 minute mini massages by Anne-Marie LaFrance-Watts of LaFrance Wellness, Morganton, NC.
All Week- Free bike wash station with supplies and assistance from Jeremy Riffle of Vehicle Enhancements Inc.
Help for finding Riding Partners will be available at registration.

(Blocked rooms will be released 07-31-2023- Booking after that date or outside the group block will be subject to regular room rates of about $130 per night.) An all-suite facility, each room has a full-size pull-out sofa and features a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and flat screen TV. Free full, hot breakfast buffet each morning. Free on-site guest laundry. Heated saltwater pool and hot tub. (open 24/7). Registration: While this rally does not require MSTA membership, it is an MSTA-Sanctioned event with registration and fees. Please take advantage of our convenient Online Registration- it helps us plan ahead and saves work for volunteers. Register online any time for $15. (On-site registration at the event will be $20.)

2020 MSTA New Motorcycle Raffle!

This raffle is our biggest fundraiser every year. It relies on member support for its success and is open ONLY TO MEMBERS of the club.
