Cafe Racer Project
« on: November 05, 2015, 08:09:44 PM »
After building a (slow build) 1980 CX500D Street Tracker, wanted to build a (another slow build) bike for Debbie. She's 5'2" tall and wanted a bike that's not too tall or heavy. We already had a 1999 Ninja 250, so decided to go with a Blue Collar Bobbers Ninja 250 Cafe Racer kit.

Original Gauges fit a BCB housing:

Parts of the original exhaust system with the BCB mufflers ceramic coated:

Installed a clutch basket:

Seat Pan Frame Modification:

New frame parts will be epoxied in place:

Project progress so far:

Whoa, Bill you have been busy! Is there a link or picture of what one of these "kits" look like when finished?
Oh I found BlueCollarBobber.com.
Is this what Debbie's bike is going to look like?

That's cool!

Brick, Thanks!

That's what Debbie's bike will look like. Know a guy that paints road race bikes, he painted the Pearl White Parts on CX500D. Will have him paint (I'm not a good painter) the frame semi-gloss black, and the rest of the parts Candy Apple Red and Metallic Silver with racing stripe. May have the wheels powder coated silver.

Going to install the seat to check bike height for her before complete dis-assembly for paint.
