New Movie: Hitting the Apex
« on: November 18, 2015, 06:52:50 am »
Last night there was a new movie that ran its 1st showing in the Detroit area called "Hitting the Apex", that was largely attended by the Michigan MSTA chapter. Its a Brad Pitt produced and narrated movie about the recent history of 5 top motorcycle GP racers and the challenges they face climbing to the top of that sport. This is not a Hollywood glamour movie, but a real life documentary that all age groups will enjoy. I encourage you to see this movie if it becomes available in your area.

Saw it yesterday in Minneapolis.  My wife, son and I all loved it.  Seemed to drag a bit at the end but that may have been do to the really, REALLY strong need to pee.

Lots of great motorcycle racing slow-mo shots.  Emotional moments.  Worth the time and money.

I also attended the showing in Detroit area (Livonia) last week. Great movie and definitely for all ages. I sat right next to two kids, oldest couldn't have been more than 11 or 12. They were sitting in front of their folks, and both on iDevices right up till the opening by films creator. They shut the devices off, put them away and were entranced by the movie. And the best part, when it finished and lights came up, they turned around and said "That was great." Agreed, sad moments, but some really good memories.
