On the Ferry!

Brick he said it was crossing into Ohio from Augusta KY.
Since you love ferries and lived in Ohio I presume you've been on the Sistersville (WV) ferry (crosses to Fly OH, where 800 ends, not far from Marietta). We take that one regularly, when it is running.

Yes Steve I "finally " figured it out. Yes I have been on the ferry crossing you mention many times!

Can't quite figure out why the pic is inverted. It was in the correct position when it came from iPhoto!
I try to call the ferry at Sistersville when going through there, the service can be spotty.
I like the small ferries, and, one gets an added thrill when its raining and the deck is wet!

Some years ago Roger White sent me a POI file showing all the ferries in the US. It's on my computer not this iPhone. It has been quite useful for planning rides.

Yep good advice, got there once and they were waiting on a replacement part and didn't know when they'd be running again. The last few years they've been reducing service, open mostly weekends (maybe Thu/Fri too) and closing in the fall/winter. They have a Facebook page too, but I'm not on FB.

I pulled up to the Sistersville ferry a few years ago...forget who I was riding with...as the ferry was pulling up to the ramp, the one operator waved us off and yelled..."the captain is sick, we're shutting down".  He no sooner said that when the captain came running out of the wheelhouse and heaved his guts out right in front of us!  Perfect timing.
