Hello from North Carolina
« on: November 08, 2018, 08:58:28 pm »
Just saying hello. Just joined the forum but have been following the Facebook page for a while. Your group looks like a fun group. I'm in central NC (Piedmont Triad area). Been riding since the 70's,  current ride is a Concours C-14 but I've ridden many different bikes. I've had a CB 750-F, Gl 1800, Couple of Harley's, Few Yamaha's, etc.
Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

HI Joseph,

Welcome, my name is Dave Brickner but these buttheads know me as Brick. I have been riding since the late 60's and live in Morganton, NC west of you in the foothills. Come on over and let's ride. There are several local groups that ride quite a bit.

I hope to meet you on a ride sometime.

Holidays are done and things are settling down now, Seems like it’s been raining here (NC) forever.  Decided to become a “card carrying “ member so I signed up  :D  this week.
Soon as my membership info comes in I’ll register for STAR in Bristol.
I’ve ridden all over Va, Tn, NC and Ga but some how I’ve missed the Bristol area but it’s been on my list.
Looking forward to it.

Registration for STAR will open up about the 1st of February.  You should have your new member packet by then, but even if you don’t you can still register for STAR.  Hope to see you there.

Welcome and thanks for joining us. I don't think you'll regret the decision. I've been riding since the mid-80's and lived in So Cal at the time (some of the best roads on earth).

Some of my favorite roads will be on the agenda for Bristol
- US421 (Shady Valley to Mountain City) - the Snake
- the road into Shady Valley (TN133, starts in Damascus)
- US58 from Volney to Damascus (don't think this has a name)
Plus the Roan Mountain area, Banner Elk, and more. Hmm, could VA80 be on the list, did that one in the rain at Johnson City STAR and have used it on return from Sparta a few times. I'm sure the route masters are having lots of fun with the possibilities.

These are roads that are also part of the routes used at the fabulous Tri-STAR event held in Sparta NC on Memorial Day weekend. I haven't ridden in that area in a few years and really enjoy it.

We ARE having TriSTAR in 2019, ya' know. Come on down and get a jump on riding in the area. You won't have time to do all of the routes at STAR.
