Cool looking ride!

Can you please share the reason you're selling it and if you'd advise riding it 1.000+ miles if you were buying it?

If you're looking for a general recommendation for this particular model, I'll give you one. I rode an R1100RS in the 2005 Iron Butt Rally. I rode almost 12,500 miles in 11 days and the bike ran flawlessly. Alas, a couple of years later it didn't survive a California crash. I recently purchased a 1996 R1100RS that has turned out to be more of a project than I'd hoped. Had I not done that, I might have considered this purchase myself. It's a fair price for a model that I like a lot.

By the way...pearl white IS the best color.

Hello Geoffrey,

Many thanks for those recommendations. What are your thoughts on the expected service life on this model? I've owned a couple of 200K+ BMW cars, but I'm less experienced with the higher ranges of two-wheeled mileage...

With the understanding that I know nothing of the service history of the bike, with reasonable past maintenance, it's likely got a lot of life left in it. I've seen them priced more aggressively than $3k, but that probably means they have issues.

The RS does not have an extreme seating position, but it's also not an RT with a sit up and beg seating position. If you don't like a little (reasonable) forward lean, keep looking. If you are really long legged, think carefully as the seat to peg distance since it isn't as generous as, well, an RT.
