RCR 2020 Will Proceed, With Some Changes
« on: July 03, 2020, 04:18:12 pm »
River City Ride 2020 will continue as scheduled July 31-August 2 in Corydon, IN, with some changes detailed below. We will continue the 31-year tradition of great roads and good times in the Ohio River Valley!

Based on recent guidance and developments with the Covid-19 crisis, some adjustments are being made in the arrangements for the 2020 River City Ride. The main change is that we will no longer be providing the Friday and Saturday evening meals as part of the event. As a result, the registration fee has been reduced to $15 ($13.50 for sustaining and life members). Those who have pre-registered are receiving refunds.

The meal changes are due to the need for social distancing and the high demands and regulations on food service sanitation during the crisis. We also are experiencing unpredictable attendance making advance food planning difficult.

Please pre-register for the event as soon as possible, to reduce our need for contact at registration, and also to give us a better estimate of the number of attendees to expect. Register at https://reg.planetreg.com/RCR2020
Wearing of cloth masks is encouraged by the State of Indiana Mask Up, Hoosiers!program. We will comply with Indiana State guidelines for gatherings, available here: https://backontrack.in.gov/2348.htm, and the CDC guidelines for social gatherings.

Attendees are asked to be careful to not bring Covid-19 with them to the event! Be careful the weeks prior, and if you are feeling unwell please cancel your plans and your registration will be refunded.

The Holiday Inn Express is looking forward to welcoming us. They are now providing the traditional full hot breakfast, served by their staff cafeteria style. They have reopened their dining area, with distancing between tables. The block of rooms remains available until July 20 at the same rate as 2019!

There are several good restaurants close to the Holiday Inn. A list of them will be provided, along with any available discounts.

T-Shirt sales will continue as planned. These may be a collector’s item! See the attractive new shirt and logo below. And this year it is easy to order women’s shirts via the online registration site.

The Holiday Inn Express parking lot provides a great opportunity for outdoor socializing with appropriate distancing. Canopies and chairs will be provided, to encourage outdoor gatherings in a scattered arrangement. We will provide coolers, with water and sodas, and some prepackaged snacks.

And, we will have some great door prizes; maybe not at the level of previous events but still worth your attention!
