I was just down on the panhandle (I KNOW that's not central, but...) to snag some photos, pick up some stuff purchased on ebay, test a new tent (spent the night at a NF campground north of Apalachiacola where I was the ONLY person...both cool and a little eerie), and rack up  some wind therapy miles.


You and your Connie will fit right in. I was on my ST1100 this trip. Actually, it doesn't matter what you're riding. As my brother-in-law used to say "Sport Touring is more a frame of mind than anything else."
