Motorcycle Rental Advice for Europe
« on: May 10, 2022, 11:27:25 am »
Folks -

I'm headed to Europe (France) in Fall 2023 for the Rugby World Cup. Would also like to see some of Europe via motorcycle.

I'm looking for the holy grail: reputable rental firm + fair prices. I'm OK if you tell me Germany, Netherlands, etc.

Also, what questions should I be asking / thinking about?

Enjoyed TwiSTAR back in '90s, '00s...

Thanks!

PS: I *had* considered doing a Euro purchase of a NA bike. Virtually impossible unless I'm on a military base.

Edelweiss rents bikes as well as runs guided tours. I've done two of their tours and both were fantastic. The BMWs were both practically new.

I have used the following in 2019.

https://www.vivamotorent.com/

They are located in Barcelona Spain.  If don't mind flying into Barcelona they are great.  They have a wide selection of bikes that are well cared for and ready to ride.  I found their rates were very good.  We rented as part of a tour but added several days onto the beginning of the tour. The only down side at the time is they had limited availability of GPS units so be sure to get one when you order your rental.  That said we ended up using our phone and google maps that worked great.

I found a dealer in Landshut Germany, I’ll get the name later… we flew into Munich and took a train to Landshut. It worked well.
