STAR 2022 Cape Girardeau, Missouri Jun 19 – 22, 2022

Ride4MS:
I received an email from RoadRUNNER Magazine, on Feb. 17, talking about 2022 Events Roundups.  It lists several MSTA events.
One of the rides to start the season is:
Ozarks Great Escape, April 22-24, Eureka Springs, AR.  We were there last year and if you have not attended this great event, plan to make it this year.

Another MSTA event listed is: STAR 2022, June 19-22, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, MO.
These are only two of the rides that they listed for 2022.

Volunteers Needed!

Our organization would not function (or even exist!) without the help of volunteers.  In the past we have relied on folks to just show up and help out when needed, but this year we're trying to be a little more organized by setting up a free account with Signup.com.  If you're interested in volunteering during the rally (registration room, door prize room, welcoming riders, bike wash, etc.), just go to the following link (you don't have to set up your own account):

You'll see that each area where volunteers are needed is listed for each day, and each day is broken up into 1-hour increments.  If you can give us a hand in one (or more) of these areas just enter your name in the appropriate time slot.  Surely everyone can spare at least one hour sometime during STAR!

One of the loneliest feelings I ever had was in a room full of folks I didn't know. I found out that by being a volunteer, I met a BUNCH of people. I wasn't lonely anymore in that crowd. This is a great way to get to know some of your fellow STAR attendees. And if you already know everyone, don't you want a reason to be out and see them? Be a volunteer!

Just to let everyone know:

We are not asking for leads for many of these positions and you will generally be volunteering alongside an experienced member.  These are volunteer positions that are helping positions primarily.  These positions are EASY and FUN!

Scott Sneeden will be doing his usual great job in the Registration Room.
Norm Kern will be at the GPS desk.
Kelly Ernst will be in registration handling the treasurer's duties.
Geoffrey Greene will be selling Ride for Kids tickets.
We already have some regulars that take care of door prizes and the raffle.

BUT WE NEED MORE PEOPLE TO HELP ASSIST THESE REGULARS AND GIVE THEM A BREAK SO THAT THEY AREN'T DOING IT ALL THE TIME. You will have the opportunity to meet and interact with so many members of the club and you will have FUN doing it too!  Pick your own time and position and what it is that you want to do. It can be as easy as just saying welcome and handing someone a bottle of cold water.  it can be as easy as sitting at a table for an hour answering questions, or directing people where to park, where to check-in, and where to go eat. None of these volunteer positions are hard to do and you can have fun with all of them.  Please help out your fellow members and volunteer today!
