Lest anyone think I wasn't riding a "sport touring" bike, I rode my Hawk GT the ~475 miles to the track day. On the way home I stopped by several National Park Service sites I hadn't previously visited pushing my mileage for the return trip over 500 miles. And, as my brother-in-law once observed, sport touring is more a state of mind than a particular bike anyway.
