I’ve been wondering about Doug as well.  Iguana Joe? Chris Parker? How did Abington, Va. fare? Lots of our folks down in the areas really affected.  Now it looks like A LOT of members in Florida are threatened. My brother, who lives along the Tampa Bay has evacuated to St. Augustine.  Says he had 4-6 foot of water in his condo garage after the last storm. Is expecting a total loss after this next one.

I saw Iguana Joe at TWoS last weekend. They've gotten power back...I'm not sure about water...he and Cindy are safe even if not still facing some issues. Chris has been posting pretty regularly about the ongoings at the Big Lynn Lodge. He's must have access to what he needs. I don't think Abingdon was hit particularly hard. US58 east of Damascus (which is east of Abingdon) had a section of road around 12 miles long that is closed and may be quite a while before it's reopened. That section of road is pretty much gone based on the pictures I've seen.
Our friends in Florida are now in for a bad time again with the next hurricane. We'll know more in the coming days.

I talked with Doug Pippin yesterday.  He’s fine. No power yet but he has generators and his road is now open.

Paco Bulto:
Thanks for the update on Doug, Mick. That is good news.

NinjaBob:
Glad most the NC area folks I know are ok, anybody hear from Gordon Kay in Clyde or Billy Aklin in Pisgah Forrest?  Hoping for the best for Florida!

Wow I had not heard of the damage in Damascus VA or the closing of a piece of US58 near there. Sounds like Laurel Creek which runs near the road and the Virginia Creeper Trail caused damage as it routed itself during high water. Article I read showed the flooding near an old mill converted to an inn.
