That looks like AR 14 or was it 16. We rode it from the Memphis area NWish across a lot of AR and it was just like that! Beautiful!

I'm thinking of spending the whole week there.  I'll probably need tires to get home on.  But it'll be worth it :)

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous.  It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity.

Has the hotel been announced yet?  Can't seem to find any info on it.

Far as I know, it's the Holiday Inn and at STAR 2014 they said the Springdale hotel was exactly the same layout and floorplan which is good.

However until registration is open you can't reserve a room for the event.
Once you have your event registration that will give you access to reserve a room.

Usually registration opens in Dec or Jan.

I'd lean towards mid-January for Registration being opened-up.  Gotta give the Hemstreet's time to celebrate the holidays!   ;)

Well I've registered and in the process there was a box marked something about buying an event hat. Well, I may have purchased one but not without seeing one. I've got too many hats that well I don't like or they are the kind that you can't fold up to put in a tank bag or luggage without really destroying them. So IF you have any at STAR and they will work for me... I may buy one!  :)

I also assume that the artwork shown will be the same on the event T-shirt??

Brick,
Yes the state flag will be on the back of the shirt, and a state outline will be on the front
The hat will have the state outline, with some MSTA verbiage
The shirt and hat will be Red
Jay is working on the mock-ups, and will get posted to the website and forum, and to Harry for the registration form

Hello! I recently joined the MSTA and just registered for STAR in June. Do you post any kind of ride schedule (who might be leading what kind of ride, by day) or events going on during the event (I saw something about a lunch ride on Tuesday?) How many riders usually show up for your events? Anyway, just curious...    thanks for helping a newbie out...    8)

We don't have "led rides" per say although in the past some members have volunteered to lead new members on the lunch ride.  And usually at least half of the people in that parade were NOT new members!  Large groups are unwieldy and sometimes even dangerous so it's much better to join a small group.  The Registration room usually has a bulletin board where you can post messages.

Just taking a guess, I'd say that 50-to-75% of the members present at STAR partake in the lunch ride.

They will have day ride routes available - including for the lunch ride - at STAR in both electronic and perhaps (?) hard copy versions.  And as we get closer to STAR some of those Garmin routes may be available on this website for registered members.  :D

There is going to be some sort of ride sign up sheet this year at STAR. Maybe one of the folks in the know can chime in here! -JEP-

Firstly, welcome to the MSTA, JohnboyNC!

I'm no longer "in the know" (and even when I was, I was usually the last the know!). We have about 300 registered for the event with a projected attendance of 350. There will be suggested ride routes, but no large organized ride. All rides are self-guided. Most members form small riding groups and strike out on their own.

From what I understand the MSTA Ambassador program will be introduced at STAR. There will be several Ambassadors whose purpose is to be points of contact for the newbies to help show them around, though not necessarily to lead group rides. The Ambassadors may also be helpful in hooking up newbies with other members from their state.
