Denny, I notice under your name it says "Forum Member" and I think that is the problem. If you look under my name on this post, it says "MSTA Member", and the downloads are for MSTA Members only. I'd suggest messaging NinjaBob who is the administrator of the forum to try and get resolved. It may be something as simple as getting your member number to him, or a proper email or ??? That's about as far as my expertise will go.

Rich is correct. Access to the STAR routes are restricted to MSTA members. Yesterday it came to my attention that the MSTA ONLY area restriction was not working and I corrected that. THere is a link in my sticky post in Welcome Mat for forum members to request MSTA member status. I have a list of MSTA members but it is updated only quarterly. If you are a recent member you should provide you full real name and MSTA member number.

Thanks Gentlemen. Member number is at home. I let my membership lapse, but renewed it last week. I'll get the info out tonight.
Thanks again,
Denny

I'll take your word for it, your set.

How long does it take to have MSTA group membership approved? I submitted my request through the Forum Profile>Group Membership link last Sunday.
Thanks,
Mike

It doesn't usually take long, but all volunteer staff means sometimes other things prevent a quicker response.
You might try contacting the site admin directly, that is user NinjaBob who posted on this thread, click their name and send a private message (which will send him an email) that may get quicker attention.

Thanks, I'll contact NinjaBob. I really appreciate the volunteers' efforts to keep the MSTA up and running.

I am very sorry for the delay! We have a glitch in our mail system! Forum requests go to webmaster at ridemsta which is forwarded to two of my personal accounts. The forwarding works for every other email souce but for some reason forum sytem messages do not get forwarded. I have been trying different things but nothing seems to work! SMF experts say the problem lies with our ISP. I will try to get this resolved with Godaddy, in the meantime I will make a point of logging on to webmail to check websmaster mail. And if a reustes is not answered within 24 hours between now and next Thursday by all mean contact me via PM. After then I will be on the road to STAR - dont bother me.... ;)

Thank you! No apology needed. I appreciate all the work you do and know how frustrating tech can be.

I'll put in my vote for mblotzer to be authorized post haste. He attended TriSTAR last week even staying through Sunday night, and is a fine fellow.

Been trying a number of ways but can't find downloads in the member area(and it shows my name at the top) or in the non-member area where the links don't work. Not sure what to do>

When you look underneath your name here on the left, it has you listed as a FORUM Member. If you look up a couple of posts at mblotzer you will see him listed as an MSTA member. In order to have access to the downloads, and most of the MEMBER ONLY section, you must have MSTA status. If you are a current dues paying MSTA member, you can get that by sending an email to the site administrator..Bob Chappuis. He is the only one that can grant you that status, which he will do after checking with the Membership committee to verify that someone is indeed a current dues paying member of the club.
The downloads and much of the Members Only section is kept from the general public for reasons dealing with liability and club security. For example, all of the discount codes that MSTA members can take advantage of are listed in that area. Routes, financial information, the Blue Book information, etc. are all to be found in that area.
Hope this helps.
