The only Sports Tourer Rider in NW Arkansas?

(1/2) > >>

Hunters Pyre:
I love riding the fabulous roads of the Ozarks on my own! (last 8 years)
But it would sure be nice once in a while to meet up with some
of my tribe of riders instead of the never ending stream of Harley's.
Funny how most of my attempted conversations with those particular riders
runs out of steam in about 60 secs or I am just ignored. lol, does anyone know
why they dislike our type of bike so much? apologies if there are any hog riders
in the group, just talking about my state.  8)
I have been riding for most of my life and have a Triumph Sprint GT.

HawkGTRider:
Sport Touring is as much (maybe more so) a mindset in how you ride rather than what you ride. Some guys on a Sprint GT might fit right in with the cruiser mindset, but you do not.

I read a magazine article that said you were a lucky person if you found ONE other person who rode like you...in a lifetime. For the most part, we more than lucky. We have a whole association of folks that ride like us. But we are rather spread out. If you don't have a copy of our directory, we can send you one. An electronic version works really well, and you can jump right over to the states around where you live. Start calling around and find that "good riding buddy."

Good riding.

Patmo:
Try the Facebook MSTA group.  Pretty sure there are several MSTA members that live in Arkansas that are active there.

Hi,
There is actually a fairly active group in Arkansas but if you do Facebook join - MSTA (Motorcycle Sport Touring Association) - Arkansas
https://www.facebook.com/groups/706009596451792

Gayla O'Brien also has a email group that she will occasionally post rides too.  Gayla OBrien <neirbog@yahoo.com>;

We are having a rally at Theodosia, MO at the marina/lodge this next Friday and Saturday 9/10 & 9/11 - $30 will get you a cookout on Friday night and a banquet on Saturday night :) -
Plus you can meet a bunch of really nice folks some of who live in Arkansas and Missouri and some like me that only go to Arkansas as often as I can till I can find a place over there to retire.

All good advice, you should be able to find somebody to ride with in MSTA.
