do we happen to have any members that are family with App design and might be willing to help on a club project?

I'm assuming by "App" you mean mobile device Apps.
I've got 30 years in IT but have never dealt with that or many other things.

Same here with 30+ years. Something that would be interesting to do if I had the time but just like everything else it takes time that I don't have. I messed with web design when it first was a hot item and while it was fun just never got past the basics since it wasn't part of my IT job.

I looked into it a while back planning to build a mobile version of my mileage log web app but did not follow through as it involved learning new coding languages and I was alraedy learning php for the ridemsta apps. I beleive for Android you need to know Java and for Iphone you'd need Object-C. I f we have someone proficient in these languages it should be doable.

Have you considered asking for help on forums where programmers hang out? Maybe there's a biker or two on those who want to help.
