Attached are the files for the RCR 2018 Saturday ride routes. There's a .pdf file with the map, and the .gpx route files for GPS.
Thanks to Don Payne and Larry McIntosh for developing the routes!

What's the name of the lunch joint for Saturday?
-
If you zoom way in (using BaseCamp or similar), it looks like it might be Rooster's Hen House. Their Yelp review, admittedly only 2 reports, sounds good!

Is that in the Central Time Zone?
One year we arrived an hour before the joint opened for lunch because we didn't realize it was in another time zone!

A) Same time as Ohio because they are on Central Standard and we are on Eastern Daylight.
B) You showed up a DAY early one time. Must be nice to be so free of schedules. ;-)

Hardinsburg is Eastern time, same as Corydon.

Western Ohio humor? I thought maybe there is a portion of Indiana that doesn't switch anymore and stays on central standard time year round, but couldn't recall.

There are parts of Indiana out west that are on Central.

Yes I know that, born in NW Indiana and had family there until about 5 years ago. But I was not aware of any portion of Indiana that was on Central time and did not observe Daylight Savings Time and therefore stays on Central Standard time, which would be same as Eastern time.
I'm probably over thinking an attempt at humor, it happens a lot.

Ah, well, we've always known you are "special"

I didn't realize that Corydon is in a fringe time zone. ;-)

What's a schedule? Is that related to that ugly "W" word? :trink39:

Years ago I bought a TDM 850 in Nashville TN so I hitched a ride from Dayton to pick it up and ride it home. In my usual fashion I just started going north on back roads. Stopped for gas in IN someplace and asked what time it was to which the person said fast time or slow time? Apparently I was in one of those fringe area.
-
I've tried consulting The Great Google and have no luck finding info on these fringe time zones. The map Doug linked is interesting, but pretty hard to follow without a legend. The red/pink areas are central time based on what I've seen, the rest is eastern. Apparently the non yellow areas are the fringe, and maybe they use both times (slow for central, fast for eastern).

Sometime around 1990-91, I had to fly to Chicago from Troy to bring back a Honda motocross truck that was being transferred to the Rider Ed Ctr. Partway across IN, I noticed by the radio announcer that the time had changed by an hour and I was totally bewildered because I knew nothing of the strange time zones in the Hoosier state. In my head, I could hear the Twilight Zone theme music playing. :-(

[...I don't think the man even owns a watch!..brider]
I do own one or more watches from my working days but their whereabouts are unknown at this time.
To me, "watch" is a verb not a noun - I walk to my mailbox and watch for the mailman who's bringing my retirement check. :-)

Yeah, no kidding Bryan. I feel your pain and it's just about exactly the same time frame for me. I keep hearing the old commercial in my head "Calgon, take me away."

How did RCR routes get hi-jacked into days-till-retirement?
We arrived in Corydon yesterday and had a great dinner at El Napolito. Later, we saw Don (Payne) in the lobby and he said he had 51 members preregister but 1-2 had cancelled. There should be a few (?) walk-ons so this could still be the biggest RCR in recent memory.
And there's still time to load your bike and get here! :-)

Wish I could! Got some family in from out of town that I rarely get to see and a few other irons in the fire this weekend, so I’m not going anywhere this weekend. Y’all have fun and ride safe! See you soon I hope.
