That's where we (the ST Owners forum) stayed last Oct, and will again Sep 29-Oct 3. We rent a few deluxe cottages, each with four bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen/great room.

Welcome Larry. There are a few of us ST guys still around in the MSTA. Mine keeps running, LOL.  TM

Welcome to the forum. My '97 ST11 has a bit over 100,000 now. Even with a garage full of a variety of bikes, it's the one that gets dragged out when I have big miles to cover.

The ST Owners forum group is having OH-STOC at the Shawnee State Park from June 10-13, so I could theoretically leave there and come to STAR on the way home and make a full week out of it.

However, I don't know if my body can withstand an entire week of riding every day. I could still stop in and visit and meet people. I do have a few questions I didn't see addressed on the event page:

1. Are daily rides arranged, or is this more of a meet-up and hang-out?

2. Is it okay to pay for and stay fewer nights, like Sunday and Monday?

3. Does everyone stay at the lodge, or will a group get a cabin or cottage?

Well, let me answer this the best I can.  1. Routes for the rides are available, you hook up with some one and go on your own pace. Lots of riding AND hanging out after. 2. Yes, not everyone can do everything. So ya do what ya can.. And 3. 300+ folks can not all stay in the cabins, there will be some staying in the lodge and the cabins.  TM

Thanx!

What would be the best way to find out who has space available in a cabin?

This is a great place to stay! They offer a buy-two-nights-get-one-free discount.

I am looking for someone with a room or bed available in a cabin or cottage. I really don't want to stay in the lodge.

There are still 12 cabins of different sizes available.
Attention: Anyone who would like to stay in a cabin or cottage (bathroom(s), full kitchen, bike right outside, trees, deer, fresh air), or even just discuss it, please contact me.

I am willing to become a "cabin master" for a group of two to four (singles or couples) of us. The cottages have four bedrooms (three twins, one queen) and two full baths.

Larry

Added: I have one interested so far!

It's nice to be able to walk 20 feet from your room to your bike. Plus, I'm bringing fixings for brownies, which is why I want a kitchen.

Update: We have secured a 3-br cabin, with three of us humans so far. We can hold a couple more, sharing a two-twin-bed room, but if we get another rider interested soon, we can see if a 4br cottage is still available. It will cost less per person.

New update: We managed to get a great deal on an upgrade to a 4-bedroom cottage, and, as of now, we have all four rooms spoken for. The other two guys seem to prioritize privacy over cost, as do I, and the fourth is a couple, so we probably won't end up with two in any other rooms, but we all know how things can change.

The lodge is sold out for this event, but there are still a few cabins open as of this morning. If you're interested in attending, let me know, and I'll send you the name and number of the right guy to talk to there. The desk people mistakenly told me there were no more cabins available.

By the way, the couple will be riding up from Texas, and asked me about good riding roads approaching Canaan from that direction. Do any of you have any suggestions I can forward to them? It seems to me that the Google maps route would be great, coming through Elkins.
