PMS in TN, already?

Was just down thru Knoxville on Thanksgiving and it was really nice Thu/Fri, of course it was nice enough at home to ride too. My bikes are getting prepped for storage, one is in the shop for work (I'm not a master mechanic like many other members) and should pick it up Saturday.

This weekend is supposed to be nice here (sunny and about 50) so I'll probably take a short ride, wash them and finish winter storage steps. If there's another chance to ride before the snow falls and the roads are salted I will, othewise its time to wait for spring.

Gotcha, rain bad.

But that is more a temporay PMS than the 3-5 month variety we have in the colder climates. I bet the folks in MN parked their bikes a few weeks ago, even lower Michigan had 8-12" snow or more a couple weeks ago.

Sorry Y'all! I'm going out for a ride now. You know I use my heated gear a lot more since we moved from Ohio to Western North Carolina. Gonna get to 58 here today. 36 now.

Yup, we don't "lay up" our dualsport bikes for winter.  We ride those year round here.  I do winterize the street bikes tho. Even a "warm" 40-50 degree day in January/February is cooler than I like on the street bike because the speeds are so much higher. Short ride is okay.  All day is chilling.

Even so we're escaping to Costa Rica in February this year (http:// www.motoscostarica.com (http:// www.motoscostarica.com)) Oh yeah looking forward to that. Nancy has been practicing off-pavement riding on her first DS bike.

Brick,

I went for a ride on Sunday 12/6, it was only mid 40s so it was just about 45 miles around some local roads in the park for 2 hours with a short hike mixed in. Now this weekend it is going to be mid 60s, cloudy and some rain on Saturday but clear on Sundy, so I'm planning to go for a ride again. Will probably be the last one, wash and prep bikes for storage after that ride.

Jim,
Costa Rica sounds nice, have you been before? We have a member here in NE Ohio who spent a lot of time there, and ended up marrying a local. He still visits and knows a lot about the area. He had a bike there and used to do a little work for a tour operator at one time. If you're looking for somebody's brain to pick I can send you his contact info. But you're probably covered well by the tour company. Enjoy it, I've heard it is very nice.
