Camping: Multiple options are available nearby.

Outdoor Lounge: Wednesday-Saturday, our trademark "Outdoor Lounge" will be located behind the East end of the hotel. We'll have lots of chairs and pop-up shelters with tables so you can relax with friends.

Dining: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday features Dinner Tours to nice restaurants in downtown Marietta. We will carpool in Monday & Tuesday and use the shuttle bus on Thursday to get everyone downtown and back so you don't have to gear up and ride your bike to enjoy a good dinner or adult beverage.

Wednesday- the Comfort Suites will have a food truck in the parking lot from 5-7PM. You can get a free food ticket at the front desk good for a couple of different meals worth $10. Bring your food back to the outdoor lounge and enjoy the evening with your friends.

Friday & Saturday- Dinner is on your own. Many attendees prefer to ride long routes on the weekend and would rather catch a bite to eat on the fly. The Wings Etc sports bar is across the road from the hotel and has a wide variety of food and drink. We are working to get a food truck at the hotel for Saturday evening for the convenience of our attendees.

Saturday Night Closing Ceremony- 730PM at the Outdoor Lounge
FlyBy Week's closing ceremony on Saturday evening will feature door prizes from Lemon & Barrett's Motorsports of Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Excellent, my favorite club event, 20+ years of attending and I'll continue that. The outdoor lounge looks great.

Curious what time the Saturday night closing activities will start, hopefully late enough to allow people returning around 5 to get dinner and come back.

Whoa! Norm you have been busy! A new venue, excellent! Everything is looking great.

I like the fact that Helene is offering the Total Control class but damn if one takes it and stays for the entire event... that makes for a long stay. Not complaining just mentioning. I see details coming. Thanks.

I really like this. Great work Norm. Thanks.

If anyone is planning on camping during FlyBy week, here's an option...

I've just reserved a site at Leith Run NFS Campground located about 15 miles north of Marietta. It's located right on the Ohio River. It has always been well maintained when I've stayed there in the past. It has 3 non-electric tent sites right down next to the river and a bit away from the RV sites (which are probably all reserved anyway). The non-electric sites are located a short distance behind a picnic pavilion, and I have parked my bike inside the pavilion during inclement weather as well as moving my tent under cover when conditions were ugly. All roads to and through the campground are paved.

It's a nice campground. And if it matters, the price is tough to beat. The non-electric sites are $15/night, and 1/2 that amount if you have a senior pass (4 nights for me was $30 plus a reservation fee). I think it would be acceptable to have multiple tents on a single site (up to 8 people), and I'd certainly be willing to share my site. Last year Tommy Victor & I took 2 of the 3 sites (neither of us knew the other had plans to camp there) and no one was in the other site.

I've attached a Google Maps satellite screen shot showing the area where the non-electric sites are located. The water at the bottom of the picture is the Ohio River. The water to the right is Leith Run. The pavilion is located in the very middle of the picture with the sites located just to the right of that inside the walkpath. The bathroom/shower building is located to the left just across from the pavilion and parking lot.
The sites are nicely shaded as you can see from all the trees. This picture must have been taken during the winter months to be able to see through the trees.

If you have any interest, please drop me a note.

I just got back from Marietta via Washington, PA.  It was a good day and a good finish to a fun weekend.  The riding and the friends can't be beat.  I even found new (to me) roads.  Thanks to Norm and everyone who helped put it all together.

Big thumbs up and THANKS to Norm and all the volunteers that made MPFBW 2021 such a great event.  I’m tired, I’m sore, and I’m very very happy I attended. It was a great weekend!

Yes that was a great event as usual. The new hotels were a treat, the outdoor hangout area and other amenities were fantastic. Many close options to walk for dinner gave more variety. I too rode some new (to me) roads, went to a new lunch stop (River City in Wheeling at the old nail factory) and returned to a couple places for food and ice cream that I hadn't been to in some years, glad to see they were still open.

My brother hit a bit of a snag on his return ride, after a break to cool off and hydrate at my house he headed for the toll road and found the west bound section closed and the lengthy detour had him return to my house for the night, then ride home to Michigan yesterday morning.

And a free ferry ride from Sistersville on Saturday was cool, great people there.

Anyone have Fly-By Route #26 that I can get. Norm loaded it into my Garmin and I road most of it but I failed to save it. I would like to get out this weekend and re-ride the route with my wife. Thanks in advance.

Ahh the actual route file (GPX) isn't there anymore. The PDF is also gone, but the MAP (full map in visualizer tool) is still there.  I might have it on my other computer and could try to check after work is over at 5. If so I could email it to you, post a reply with your email address, or send it to me in a msg thru the forum (click my name to access msg).

Or you might try and contact Norm (email or text probably quicker than the forum) he should be in the Blue Book.

Home safe yesterday after a long 842 mile day of mostly slabs. My second MSTA event and it was one of the best ever! Thanks to Ron, John, and Steve whom I met Monday and took great care of me and hope to call new friends.
Jim Roberts was announced as the long-distance rider somewhere in the 600-700 mile range. Sounds like you've got that beat by a pretty good margin.

Yes, Bill, I know this is in a 2021 thread. i posted something the other day about getting ready to leave and had to start a new 2022 thread. Not much posted for 2022.

Yes I also know this is the 2021 thread, but more discussion is never a bad thing...

I thought I met somebody at the event who told me there were from Florida, and I was trying to figure out how the person from Iowa was further away. Heck I thought Andray Hubble from Alabama came further, but my geography was off. However keep in mind, the distance is measured using the quickest/shortest distance, not how far we traveled to get to the event. I could take several days to get to Marietta from Akron and travel over 1000 miles, but the distance would still be something under 200.
