Got me one of them fancy memberships
« on: May 19, 2020, 08:37:38 AM »
Howdy Ya’ll from Ft Worth Tejas.
Carl here, I ride a Triumph Trophy SE and a Harley Roadster. Both a little modified for more comfortable traveling.
I am currently participating in Tour of Honor and Grand Tour of Texas. Completed a few SS1000s. Always looking to improve my skills or go for a ride.

Welcome from East Tennessee.

I've also done some LD riding. And Wendy Crockett, winner of last year's IBR will be doing a presentation at our national rally/STAR in Cape Girardeau in September. Come on over for a few days of fun.

Hello Carl in Ft. Worth,

Welcome aboard Carl, we've got a pretty big and active group in Texas. When you get your membership information look them up.

Thanks for the welcome.
Steve, I am on the message board now. Not sure if I should introduce myself there or not. I am not fast, and usually ride alone. Would like to meet some like minded folks and learn some new stuff.

Not fast is just fine. I think our version of Sport Touring is a state of mind in which you can ride any style bike in pretty much any manner. Come on over to STAR and I'll buy you a soda while we're out on a ride.

Have you ever been to the "Last Big Ride of the Year" in Stockton, AL? Done generally on December 30th, ride to Stockton (35-40 miles north of Mobile), have lunch at the Stagecoach Inn, and then go home. At 7:00 in the morning, the place is deserted. By 11:00 a.m., there may be 500-700 riders there. By 2:00 p.m., it's once again near deserted. You'll see lots of locals and a fair number of people from some really far flung places. From my house it's a 950 mile round trip. I leave my house around 4:30 a.m., get there for lunch, relax a bit, and then head back home to arrive around 11:00 p.m.

Well, MY version is getting a bit more relaxed anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
