Austin MotoGP - 2015
« on: March 14, 2015, 08:31:10 PM »
Anyone else going to the MotoGP (April 10-12) at Circuit of the Americas in Austin?  Three of the Kansas MSTA members are heading south on Thursday the 9th.  In addition to MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3, they've added MotoAmerica superbike and supersport races this year.  We'll be on Turn 15 again this year.  Great racing, and even more of it this year.

Judi Rowe, and I will be marshaling again, and this year Russ Weik is joining us. Plus Greg Sickmeier and his Indiana crew will be doing rider recovery again.

I could see Choon waving his flag from my seat on Turn 15 last year.  Another reason to go...

Looks like I'll be going. Hotels seem to be filling up. Anyone else from Georgia going? Does anyone know if MSTA is going to have meet up?

Last two years I organized a meet up for dinner on Saturday evening. If there's interest, I'll do it again this year.  What do all y'all say? BBQ again? Maybe I can convince our Texas Special Activities Director, Judi Rowe, to do the organizing....

Sounds great. That would be the popular choice.

The Kansas guys are always up for BBQ, Tex-Mex, or anything that the locals like.  Saturday will work better for us, as we're not arriving until Friday.

Yes Choon, you absolutely can (and did) convince me to coordinate this so here we go ...  :)

When:  Saturday night April 11th ~ 7:00pm
Where: Black's BBQ in Lockhart (an easy peasy 20-ish minute drive from COTA)
            www.blacksbbq.com
            215 North Main St. - Lockhart TX - 78644

I am really looking forward to seeing ya'll there!!
The shortest distance between point A and point B is boring.

Two East Tennessee MSTAers are headed to the Hill Country 3 April and will be back to the Austin area Saturday 11 April for the GP. We'd like to meet up with other MSTA folks and will try to make it for BBQ Saturday night at 7pm.
Thanks,

Robert W.

Roger....I have the BMW Corral passes for the weekend (gift from my SO) and am going to leave on the 9th as well from Independence. I had to switch out computers and seem to have lost your contact info but would love to hook up for the ride. I was considering heading due south and staying in Texarkana Thursday night. If you had a better route I'd be interested to see it.

We're just going to head south on I-35, stopping in Hillsboro, TX, on Thursday night.  Not a particularly exciting route, but it's fast.  My cell number is in the MSTA Blue Book.

Thanks, Roger !

Not certain I still have a copy of the Blue Book since I've moved. A lot of stuff is now in storage. However, I did find your e-mail so I will send you a note through e-mail for further info.
