I have to think that Rossi is probably wondering if it wouldn't have been better to allow Marquez to pass in the previous race at Malaysia. Knocking Marquez down caused him to suffer a penalty of -3 points and starting from the last row of the grid. His plight at Valencia would have been much easier had he started in his usual spot in the 1st or 2nd row.
Regardless, Lorenzo rode a flawless race and never put a wheel wrong! :)

I believe Rossi...that knocking Marquez down was not intentional.
-
I agree he didn't knock him down intentionally but he never should have slowed down and done what he did. He should have just raced! That entire thing just put a bad light on the GP for me! Stop the crap and ride!!!!
-
Rossi should've just kept his thoughts to himself during the Thursday press conference before the Sepang GP. The whole sordid affair just went south from there.

Sorry, but I'm not happy with the intent on Marquez's part. This is not Nascar where it's ok to block for a fellow Spaniard (No offense to Nascar fans out there).
Check the lap times for Sepang, Marc had slowed the race to the point that he probably fell from lack of momentum.
Then at Valencia Marc was practically Lorenzo's bodyguard. The only time he tried to fight for the lead was with Dani, never tried to overtake Lorenzo.
We watch for the racing, leave the BS out of it.
P.S. Did anyone notice my little man Dani won at Sepang?

Sorry, Gayla, I have to disagree on this one. Saw an article today that sums it up:

I don't think this article sums anything up anymore than any of the, what seems like, hundreds of other articles I read. Truth is we will never know.
I do think this WWW action in GP just shrouds it all for me!

I watched the race on the DVR. Of course Rossi lost time on the leaders working his way through the field, Once Rossi got to 4th and had a clear track between himself and the leaders, I hoped for him to run faster laps to reduce the gap, which was about 12 secs. However he lost time on the leaders every lap, finishing more than 15 seconds back. Lorenzo led from the first lap on, had the hammer down. He knows how to manage the lead once he gets it.
If MM had passed JL, Pedrosa would have still been in between JL and Rossi. They would have tied on points but Lorenzo would have won with the most outright wins. How many times this season did we see MM shadow JL and wait until the last lap or so to make his move? Was he always successful? No. So MM's behavior in this race was completely normal.
Marquez was not in contention for the title. What if he had attempted to pass Lorenzo on the last lap and taken both of them out in a crash? How much controversy would that cause? If MM & DP had pulled over and let Rossi around (pretty obvious move when he is 15 sec behind!), how would that have been perceived?

OK, I'll start by saying I haven't watched the race. But for ANYONE to think that what Rossi did to Marquez at Sepang is OK, is just wrong. I mean come on. Even if you concede there was no kick (or whatever), Rossi intentionally went wide on the corner, slowing down and looking over his shoulder not once, but TWICE (almost like he was making sure he made his point) is not racing. MotoGP is not NASCAR. Race the race, let the points determine the winner. And quit your bellyaching, just because you're close to 40 (Rossi) doesn't entitle you to ANYTHING.
-
Rich...watch the race. MM did EXACTLY the same thing to Rossi on at least 2 previous corners, with the exception of the contact.
-
When I said I hadn't watched "the race" I was referring to Sepang. I don't recall seeing MM do anything of the sort. I could be wrong.

Rich:
I WAS referring to Sepang. Watch the race!
