Got out for a ride today. I met 3 others who are mostly MSTA members but definitely Carolina Old Farts Sport Touring members. Got a late start... 11:00ish as it warmed up to 38 or so. We saw 55 degrees in the foothills here in Western NC... so we rode up NC80 to the Blue Ridge Parkway where it was 51ish. Got around 235 miles or so and it was great!

Congrats Brick, isn't it so nice to be alive!? I'm glad you took advantage of that window of opportunity. Wonder how many sat at home under similar circumstances, thinking it was just a little to chilly? Syd :D

I really wanted to ride yesterday, but since it never got into the 40's even with sunny skies, I wussed out. I did see one person on a goldwing riding on the highway, I think that was about 10:30 in the morning and it was 28 degrees at that point. I'm just not that tough anymore. The last few years I've been able to ride pretty much all of December, but not this year...it's been cold!

When you're retired, you can pick & choose the days you ride so you can be more selective. Up here in the Frosty North, they're predicting temps in the 50s for Christmas day and also on Monday...but with some (?) rain.

Had a great riding season this year- even got some decent weather in late Nov. to ride. Might have to go out for a bit on Christmas day, but like Tosh, I can wait for those occasional nice days to pop up. No need to go out in really crappy weather just to get a few miles in.

Been riding 3-5 days a week this month. High 40s to mid 70s down here in Bayou Country. Did get caught in the rain a few times due to very light showers that did not show on radar!?

With sunshine and temps in the 40s (not bad for here at this time of year), I got 3 different bikes out for a warm-up ride yesterday. The RD125, NT650, and VFR700 all got at least 20 miles and 30-40 minutes of meandering around a bunch of little back roads on this end of the county.
At 10:30 it's sunny and already near 50 today, so I'm going to HAVE to get out for some more warm-up rides.

Too much salt and junk on the roads up north already, even if the weather and work schedules cooperated. But I do enjoy hearing about all y'all going for rides.
My bikes are tucked away cozy for a long winter's nap. Hopefully that won't last through April/May :)

55F this afternoon. No sand or salt yet. I'll get out for a while. My new bike has only 250 miles on the clock - still breaking it in.

Supposed to be 57 in about an hour so I'm saddling up to take back roads to Tennessee to do some Christmas shopping. Ho, Ho, Ho.

We had wondered about the roads up on the mtn having salt crap but so far it's still clear up there.
Next week we are showing some 60 - 65 degree days.

65 and first blue sky in 4 days today. Took the long way to the gym. Cut my workout in half and rode home the extra long way. 102 miles total.

Today in the Cincinnati area it was a new record high of 70. Sooooo, what would YOU do?, get out and ride that's what. I was able to get 2 bikes out to exercise them and exorcise the demons out of my system having not ridden for so long. OK, it's only been a few weeks but seems like forever.
Bought some Seafoam by the gallon while I was out to winterize the many motorize things. Got home before it started raining.
To quote John Aston "I'm feeling much better now!!" TM

It wasn't 70 here, but it's been in the 60s the last 3 days. I've gotten everything in the fleet out for a ride of 20-40 miles through the surrounding counties. Yes, it does feel good.
