It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Mike Kosmetos of OH on this day.
Mike was a cherished riding partner of mine since 1994 when he helped me organize the northeast OH HSTA/MSTA group.
Mike and I shared many trips together, including many STARs in the east, south and west.
He led the NEOMSTA holiday breakfast rides for years, until the time came when he had to finally give up riding.
He will be greatly missed by the NEOMSTA group and anyone else who was lucky enough to be his friend.
Godspeed my friend with clear roads and good weather where ever you may ride. RIP
Arrangements TBD.

Sorry man. This is a loss for the whole club. My condolences to Family and the NE OH bunch. TM

RIP Mike and condolences to his family friends.

I was floored when I got the news last night, I'm still trying to accept.
I cherish the time I spent with Mike, some of those rides were a real blast. Those 2 trips to Helen GA rally, the MC show dinners and many more good times. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

Here is another picture that includes Mike, near the middle with the brown coat and his arm around a young woman (pretty sure that is his daughter in law). I believe this was taken about 15 years ago or more, at a pancake breakfast in the park that Mike put on regularly at that time.

I spoke with Mike Jr yesterday.
He told me that the family will be having a private service at the funeral home.
The outpouring of sympathy has been very comforting and appreciated.
Nothing else is planned at this time.

From Mike Kosmetos Jr:
Please let everyone know that shared very kind thoughts about my dad’s passing that they were deeply appreciated by my family.
And my dad would have felt honored by the outpouring of love and respect.
I had a medallion made of his thumbprint(so he can still hit the starter button) and had “kickstands up-let’s ride“ engraved.
I took him for a ride on River road today.
I swear I could hear him say the speed limits do not apply on Christmas Eve day. I was planning on going with that if I got pulled over as my dad and I often did on our 6AM breakfast rides.
