Brick mentioned that he had several trees down right after the storm. Haven't heard anything from him since. Tried to call but got no answer.

Batten down your hatches everyone.  Thanks for the updates.   I did see a video from Morganton, NC and the height of the water was incredible.  Brick???   Is that you floating by??   Hendersonville and other towns whose names are familiar had damage too.
I can't fathom what I've seen on Youtube.    TM

I have heard no news about members in the hard hit areas. However, here on the East Coast of Florida we did just fine. Now we are keeping a watchful eye on Milton and it doesn't look good for Tampa! -JEP-

I heard that Lou Laguna was OK, just a tree down in his yard.  Dan Steinburg is OK and not much damage at his place.  But I’ve not heard about anyone else.

OK, folks.
There has been no mention of any of our members in West NC or East TN that may or may not be in the hellish nightmare that is the aftermath of Helene. So here goes.   Does anyone have any news, info or contact with our members there?
Let's not forget the folks in FL either.
God bless and God speed everyone involved.  TM

Big Lynn Lodge Ride / Re: I'm excited!

I'm currently wishing there was an event in Arkansas this weekend rather than West Virginia. Rain associated with the recent Gulf storm is running SW to NE right up the Appalachians and sitting there for the next 4-5 days.

:-(
Well it was a very wet time at FCR, I think very few people rode on Friday. We trailered there from NE Ohio, got in Wednesday and unloaded. Thursday had some rain so it was a short ride. Saturday was better, but the aftermath of the storm created some chaos on the roads, especially in Southern WV. We ran into some flooding near Spanishburg WV along US19 from the Bluestone river flowing over its banks. We turned around after seeing a box van that had apparently lost power after crossing the water. Many areas with heavy storm damage, and no power.

We saw some people who trailered loading up Thursday morning, some others who trailered left their bikes on the trailer for a day or two, until the weather cleared.

OK... This place is way south...  So, it costs a little more to get things here, and so it costs a little more to enjoy their scrumptious vittles!!
That said, this place has always treated us well and offered us really tasty options!
