I got home yesterday from the North Georgia Classic in Helen, GA, and it was a hoot. The riding was wonderful and camaraderie was plentiful.
Guest Erik Perry from Sevierville and I camped at a National Forest Service campground a few miles outside of Helen. Looking up through the canopy of trees at night was almost magical. At 6 miles from Helen, we'd already escaped much of the light pollution from the town, and the starry night was amazing!
While the only critter we saw in the campground was a small slithering thing in a pile of leaves near the tent pad as we packed up to leave Sunday morning, there was evidence of others. I purchased a bag of boiled peanuts from a local business, ate all I wanted one night, and left the others on the picnic table. I thought they might be gone by the morning, and  that's exactly what happened. Not even a shell was left.
Now onto TriSTAR. At just over a month away, there's little reason to look at the weather other than to see the historic averages...lows near 52 and highs near 75. Dang if that isn't more perfection.

Here's hoping we get to see you guys in North Carolina some part of the Memorial Day weekend at the Alleghany Inn.

Still looking forward to seeing you at Tri-STAR in a few weeks.

The historic average temperatures look really good...

AccuWeather seems to think it may be a few degrees warmer than the historic averages, but 55-75 is still pretty darned nice. Fingers are crossed for dry.

At the web site kindly provided by Doug Pippin, http://msta-se.com/tristar/ , you can download the legacy routes. Doug has gone over them make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, and that is much appreciated.
Make your reservation at the Alleghany Inn ( https://alleghanyinn.com/ ) and be sure to tell them you're coming with the MSTA. If you made a reservation last year before leaving, you may have received a confirmation of your reservation via email recently. If you think you made a reservation but didn't get a confirmation, you may want to call them just to make sure. There should be plenty of rooms, but that's not a guarantee. Better to be safe than sorry.

Tri-STAR will be a Just-For-Fun event this year with no registration fee. No meals will be provided, but J.B.'s Pizza and Subs, across the parking lot from the Alleghany Inn, should be open this year along with other restaurants in town within walking distance.

See you soon.

Is anyone interested in splitting a room at Tri-Star?
I will be arriving Thursday evening and leaving Tuesday morning.
Both of my prospective room shares have fallen through... Thanks!
