March Moto Madness
« on: March 24, 2017, 04:46:33 PM »
There were a few of our members that attended March Moto Madness last year near Tellico Plains, TN last year, and I was wondering if anyone was attending this year. Dates for the event are March 30-April 2.

The Knoxville BMW dealership, Alcoa Good Times, is sponsoring a BBQ dinner on Wednesday night prior to the start of MMM, and they've invited the local BMW club and others along with anyone attending MMM for free food. If we've got anyone coming into town for dinner, I'd be inclined to come by as well to say hi.

Anyone coming down for this event this year?

Sounds like a good time but I will not be in TN until July when I am making a run down the East coast for work and plan to stop and do a couple classes while I am in town and visit with some friends, Always like to get a run up the "Good" roads while I am there as well. I have been lucky a couple time and got to hit the Natchez Trace Pkwy during the Government shutdown so it was not patrolled.

Not going to Tellico for March Madness.
We have our own dual sport weekend out of Dillard GA.
This is a smaller event with less chaos and mainly MSTA members.
The trails we ride are a little further north to avoid the congestion closer to Tellico.
Check it out and join us this coming weekend.
Great trails Great friends

Dillard for me too. Hopefully we'll be able to stay far away enough from those MMM hot dogs to avoid a collision like last year when George Goard got his leg broken in a head-on collision with one of them.

I'm a bit out of pocket for the weekend as I'm working Friday (grrr!...the only day that week I've got a gig), will be helping with an MSF class on Saturday, and our church handbell group is playing Sunday morning.
When I still had a M-F 8:00-5:00 job, I seldom planned anything more than a few weeks out. The M-F work week left little time for much of anything...1 week of vacation for STAR and 1 week with Cindy. Weekends were often taken by MSF classes. Now that I have lots of flexibility in my scheduling, I am looking at my calendar constantly to make sure I'm not forgetting something, and it's oten pretty filled. I've had the Dillard days on the docket since I first saw info on it, but these other things have taken a higher priority because they involve other people who are depending on me in some capacity.

I hope you guys all have a good time in Dillard. And I hope you've made your reservations at the Allegheny Inn in Spart for the Memorial Day weekend for TriSTAR.
