My friend Tom asked me to post this question to the forum (he's not yet register to the forum), as he's getting ready to pull the trigger on a new bike very soon ...

To MSTA members. I'm considering buying a new BMW R1250RT and am asking for opinions and/or suggestions on this bike i.e.  reliability, cost of maintenance, pros and cons, etc. I've always owned Japanese bikes and want a comparison.
