Sad Goodbye to Myers Motorcycles
« on: March 03, 2015, 03:27:29 PM »
It's always sad to see our local motorcycle dealers shutting the door. In case you haven't heard this Saturday, March 7th, Myers Motorcycles will be closing their doors for the last time.

Whoa... Bummer. While I never bought anything there I certainly don't want to see them go out of business.

I might be out riding my Super Tenere'

Used to stop by Myers every time I was in Asheville, which was at least once a month.  Great bunch of guys, but the writing has been on the wall for a while.

Having owned two Sprints and a Tiger, I really loved the breed; however, I would always caution potential Triumph buyers "if you don't have a good dealer fairly close, don't get one."  Myers was a good one.  The bikes were very reliable, but if you ever had a warranty issue, your dealer was your only reliable path to Triumph USA.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!

Sad to hear indeed. I did business there back in 98-2004. Thy put me on the back of a 97 Moto Guzzi Sport 1100i. What a machine it was. They were pleasant to deal with. As I remember, sometime after I sold the Sport both Jim and later his sister passed away rather suddenly. I know nothing about more recent history
