New From Indianapolis
« on: July 23, 2017, 09:42:54 pm »
My name is Jared and I live in Indianapolis. I like road trips and this group seems to have some like minded folks. I look forward to meeting some fellow riders and learning what I can.

It's called the River City Ride (RCR) in Corydon, IN on Aug 4-6 with host hotel being the Holiday Inn Express.  There is are two provided dinners for people who register for the event.  I've been going since it was held in Vevay eons ago and enjoy the area and good fellowship!

Welcome! The Indiana group has Monthly meetups for breakfast, lunch, and riding with much of it centered out of the Indy area and heading south.  In addition, many of the Indiana people make it a point to attend several of our regional get togethers around the Midwest and east throughout the year, so you will find others in the area that also enjoy road trips.  Beyond the RCR in Corydon, there are also a late August event in Marietta, Ohio and a mid September event in Middlesboro, Kentucky that are both a few hundred miles away from Indy.  Also our former president Moose, who lives in Greenfield, is organizing an Indiana group to travel to Columbus for the AiM EXPO in September.  So there is lots of opportunities for you get involved, to meet members, and to do road trips all around this area of the country and over the next couple of months.  Hope to meet you at some of them.

I have a 2014 Multistrada standard. Had it just over 2 years and have 56,000 miles on it. No complaints except it gets expensive touring on a bike like this (damn services) but beyond that I love it. Comfortable but fun in the corners. I just rode to Seattle and back on it and had zero issues.

How is the 950? I have not ridden it yet.

Yes, service is expensive! I hope to do my 9000 service myself, however I don't intend to tackle the desmo service! Fortunately that won't be until 18000 miles.  I am loving the 950, great all around bike. I think it is the best handler of the many bikes I have ridden and power is adequate. The mechanic who did my 600 mile service owns a 1200 and he said he regrets having ridden my bike because he likes it better :D
56000 in two years is impressive!Take a look at my mileage log site: http://www.wfr-ridersclub.com/miles/miles.asp You might enjoy it.
