Smokey Mountains, Big Dragon and the Races! let's Ride!
« on: October 05, 2019, 08:31:40 pm »

This trip transformed a couple of times during its inception. It all started when Jeff & Becky mentioned that we should join them in Birmingham for the MotoAmerica races at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park.Jamie and I thought this was a great idea so we booked the race tickets and the room in Alabama. I then started to plan a week long journey as I had 6 days of vacation coming. I could pair this with the weekends and I would get 10 days of riding in. Let’s Ride

Read the Ride report and see the videos here.

I recognize the location of a couple of those photos...maybe more.

The last 3 are pretty easy (Barber Museum, Barber pits, Dragon), the first two...I would have guessed Blue Ridge Pkwy on the first, but since I was just there I am reminded there are no fog lines (white at roadside) only center lines on BRP. The 2nd is along some small stream, reminds me of the road to Bald River Falls but could be almost anywhere. (In reading the story I do see they stopped there.)

Great place to ride, been several years, and some plans to get there various times since have been foiled. Maybe in 2020
