Rally!
« on: March 17, 2014, 04:58:53 pm »
Just made my reservation at The Hub.  First MSTA rally of the year for me, and first time at this location.  Can't wait!

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous.  It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity.

The Hub is a great place to stay.  A bit old, but well maintained and run by motorcycle-friendly people.  It's right in the middle of some really good roads.  The last time I was there, they had a guide to local routes in the office.

Guess I'd better check my calendar...

I will be attending the T-26 but have not found the registration sheet so I'm just going to show up.  The Hub is full, but I'm on the waiting list for a room so I'll bring my tent and try camping there.  Can't wait to get out of SE Tx and ride in AR again.

There is plenty of tent space so come on up.
Seems like there are always last minute cancellations also.
The other thing is that a lot of people end up with a room with 2 beds and don't advertise for a room mate.
2 years ago a couple of guys ended up splitting a room after they showed up and freed up a room last minute.

I'm planning on being there this weekend for the FZ1 rally and also next weekend.  I can't get enough of those Arkansas roads.

I have the GPS files for the rally for anyone that want's them.  I'm still looking for the Member's Only area to post the GPS files.

Lunch will be at Cody's in Fifty-Six so this will be the 3rd direction we've navigated out of the Hub since we've moved.
Great thing about the Hub is that the roads in any direction are great right from the start.

Deb is double checking the reservations looking for enough rooms for everyone so get on the waiting list if you are thinking about this.

I was just over there this weekend and the roads were a blast as always.

Denise, it says I'm not allowed to view the GPS routes in the download section? Have I been a bad boy?   >:(

Rick,
Denise posted those in the members only area, you need to have MSTA Member access to access them, and that is something you have to request and the site admin sets it up.
I think this is the link you need to click to request member access

PS If you ride a motorcycle you've probably been a bad boy too  ;)

Yeah Steve, I've done that three times since the website changed the last time. For some reason it keeps loosing my info and I have to keep re-registering to logon to the forum. It's getting to be a real pain.....

Sorry to hear that Rick, I've gone through re-registering on every forum as well, just like many others. I've had no problem with this current iteration or the others losing my info.
I will say that until recently member access had to be requested over when it expired, but I believe they have tried to work that out so it is renewed when you renew your membership.
If you continue to have problems I suggest you contact the web site / forum administrator (Jon Campbell Jr.) His info should be in the Blue Book (in Ohio) or use the Contact link at the top of this page.

Will there be a T Rally at the Hub next year (2015) in May, given that STAR is a month later in Arkansas? I want to plan some BMW Club rides from Houston, maybe in conjunction with the T if it happens. Who is the planner?

That's the plan, come on up and pre-ride some STAR roads.
You won't be disappointed.

Thanks,

I made a reservation at the Hub today, and e-mailed Becky Wing for registration details.  I'm hoping to bring some more of the Kansas crew along with me.

Man, I waited too long to make my reservation.  I'm on the waiting list with 3 ahead of me for that weekend at the Hub.  She did say they get cancellations so there's still hope :)
