New Orleans Triumph Dealer
« on: February 18, 2015, 07:04:47 pm »
There is a Triumph/Ducati/Vespa dealer in down town New Orleans. The Transportation Revolution, they go by TTRNO.  The business is run by two brothers, Max and Zack.  These guys are enthusiasts, who also race.  Max wrote a pretty good article.   I enjoyed the article and thought I'd post a link to it.

Brooklands Green......already did a fender eliminator kit to clean up the rear end and some other little bits of trim.  Got it in January, but only been able to ride it a couple of times.  :(

Pat

You've been able to ride since January, lucky dog!  I finally cleaned out the garage and started the bikes last weekend. No chance to ride yet.

Steve.....not so.  I've actually only been able to get out 3x so far this year.  ( I don't count riding a mile down and back on my road in 32 degree weather as "riding"). Even though it has been warm enough to go a ridding a few other days, it's either been raining like crazy, or the roads where so covered with salt, sand, and potholes that it just wasn't worth it. This has been one of the worst winters for cold (starting early Nov.) and snow ( starting Jan and all of Feb./early March) that we have had around here in many years.

However, I know that as bad as it's been around here, you guys have had it worse...including yesterday and today for some north of here.  Let's hope it's all done now, but who knows for sure?

I rode 3 times in December, none in January, and several times in February.  During the winter, my personal level of tolerable temps for riding drops to 35-40 F.  After many days and even weeks of moderate weather, a weird snowstorm arrived Monday and dumped about 1-1/2" of snow in less than a hour!  It's all gone now, including the usual huge piles of dirty snow in parking lots.   :)

ps. seems as if we hijacked the topic.  Sorry!

Tosh,

It helps to be retired and not working 5 days a week, random good days rarely fall on the weekends it seems.

Not begrudging people their chances to ride, I usually just pack it in when the snow falls and roads get salted. Then I wait to ride until spring breaks. The roads are a mess in between, especially the fun stuff close to home with hills/corners. Then the bike is a mess and needs to be cleaned, and so on.

Yeah sorry about the thread hijack...
