For 2026, the fourth installment of the MSTA Sky-High Tour JFF tak es us to Buena Vista, Colorado. The event has a ride loop that will take y ou up and over 2 Alpine passes. Cottonwood Pass (12,126ft.), is the highe st paved Pass in the lower 48 states. A lunch stop in Gunnison. The afterno on ride will be East on US 50 up and over Monarch Pass (11,312 ft.). There is a gift shop and snack bar at the pass. The overall route is less than 2 00 miles. This should get the riders back to Buena Vista with time to explo re the town and for those that are interested. A ride through the Midland T unnels would be an interesting end to a fun day.
Lodging in Colorad o has become expensive. the best rates that I can find are at the Lakeside Motel, $159.00 a night. This is a smaller motel with a limited amount of r ooms. Book a room as soon as you can for the best price and availability.
For those that like camping. A few miles South of town is the Chalk Creek Campground. I have seen prices for tent sites in the $45.00 a night r ange. Call for RV sites for your individual RV.
