6/13/21 - STAR 2021
The 2021 edition of the Motorcycle S port Touring Association's National Rally, known as STAR, will take place from June13-16 at the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center. T he center is located in the northeast section of West Virginia, approximat ely 12 south of Davis, WV. We have a block of rooms (120 of them) set asid e for our usage. In addition, there are 23 2-3-4 bedroom cabins ava ilable, and 34 campsites on the park grounds. This facility seems to have everything need ed to make this not only a great motorcycle event, but to also provide fam ilies with a wonderful and fun filled vacation opportunity. Not only will t his facility serve as a great base from which to ride out and explore all t he outstanding roads and trails in West Virginia, it also offers many diff erent outdoor activities for non-riders or for riders wanting to take a bre ak from the road and experience a different activity, or just simply relax .
But most of us will be coming to ride the twisties and explore the mountain roads, both paved and unpaved. West Virginia certainly will not disappoint in that area!No matter what your cup of tea, mountain switchbacks, long sweepers, scenic vistas, country lanes, or dirt roads and single track, you will find it in West Virginia. The best part? It starts right at the entr ance to the park! No riding through congested city streets to get to them either, as even the road into the park to the lodge ,the cabins, a nd campsites is nice. For those wanting a bit more in the way of adv enture, we will have several dual-sport routes available too. This area is well known for its opportunities for trail and dirt road riding. For those wanting a break or comin g as a family activity, there is plenty of non-riding activities there too . The resort features both and indoor and outdoor pool, miniature g olf and an 18-hole links course (club rental available), horseshoe courts , volleyball, sporting clays and archery, wagon rides, hiking and biking trails (bike rentals on site), a scenic ski lift, and wagon rides. Horse back riding and rafting are also available in the area. Or perhaps y ou just wish to sit around one of the many firepits and relax? Take a walk around the park and enjoy the views? You can do that too!
We will have our traditional schedule at STAR . Sunday evening will feature a welcome ceremony and meet-up in the lodge area. Monday evening is set aside for the members meeting. Tuesday evening there will be seminars. Wednesday evening the ra lly will close with a banquet. All evenings will give us ample oppor tunity to visit the onsite vendors. We are hoping to once again be a ble to have motorcycle demo rides, but that is still up in the air right n ow. Don’t worry about going hungry either. The lodge featu res a main restaurant, a full-service lounge with local craft beers on tap , and a quick serve shop where you can purchase lighter fare to go or to e at there. We also have some other ideas about evening meals that we are going to pursue. All the cabins feature a fully equipped full kitchen f or those going that route too.It is shaping up to be one of o ur most memorable STARS and you are not going to want to miss it!You can register for the event at www.planetreg.com/STAR2021. When you get registered you will find a link and a code to use when reserving your room or cabin. Follow the instructions on the registration w ebsite. The 34 campsites will be available on a first come-first serve basi s. They can accommodate motorhomes in the parking lots at the lodge. You will need to call the resort directly to set those up. Like all of our events, MSTA membership is not required to attend.Fo llow STAR 2021 on Facebook atMSTA-STAR 2021 Canaan Valley, WV | Facebook
