I rode with dad today to get the break in miles on his new Versys. First impression, looks great. Evidently, Kawasaki has been watching the Versys forums, as it appears they redesigned most anything that was griped about over there. It is definitely an improvement over the 2009 I had, which was still a great bike. I can't believe how much lower it sits than the one I had, 2 inches is a huge difference. The Kawasaki hard bags appear to be huge (they are no longer rebranded Givi V35's). The windscreen is larger, easier to adjust (no tools required) but I am still on the fence on how well it works, still looks small to me. The addition of hand guards is a welcome improvement. The gauge cluster is completely redesigned, I'm not sure if I like better or not as I didn't ride the bike.
As for the ride, about 200 miles, 2 bike shops, lunch at Young's dairy (BTW, thanks for buyin'), a bathroom clearing at Young's Dairy (make your own assumptions), a huge rock chip in the top of the tank of the Versys ( #thatsucks ), and 2 pairs of female nipples flying free (again, make your own assumptions). Not a bad day, for me anyway...
