Hard to believe it's been ten years. We'll meet at Roy's BBQ, 1028 Nickerson Blvd (aka 5th Avenue) in Hutchinson, for the best barbecue in Kansas. Roy's opens at 11:00 AM; latecomers get whatever the early birds have left behind. Most of us arrive by 10:30 to kick tires and be at the head of the line.
After lunch we'll ride a few miles to the Carriage Crossing in Yoder for some pie. If you have extra time, there are a few good attractions in the area: the Kansas Cosmosphere space museum in Hutchinson, the Underground Salt Mine museum in Hutchinson, and the Kansas Motorcycle Museum in Marquette.
After lunch and pie, anyone traveling east or south (or any other direction if you don't mind the fifty mile backtracking) is welcome to stop by my garage (1510 Haskell, in Wichita,) where the Mouse & Toad Garage denizens will be observing my sixty-sixth birthday. We always have drinks in the refrigerator, and decent cigars in the humidor.
I'll buy lunch for the rider traveling the farthest, and he or she will have their name engraved on the Mixon Cup (which resides year-round at Roy's.) We usually get riders from five or six states. The long distance riders have traveled from Arizona (twice,) California, Illinois (twice,) Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin (twice.)
In addition, I'll buy pie and a drink at the Carriage Crossing for anyone who shows me a valid MSTA membership card.
