I read elsewhere that Cliff was hurt pretty severely in an accident that involved road repair that was unmarked.  My thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery are with him.

Same here, my brother told me there was some info on the MSTA Facebook page about it.
Hope Cliff heals up soon.

Cliff hit an unmarked road hazard in rural North Carolina (a bridge under reconstruction - no warning signs! And yes, I took pictures) on Tuesday and had a severe crash. He is in the ICU unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville North Carolina. He is stable but is seriously injured. A public forum is not the right venue to discuss medical details but I will tell you he was conscious and talking to us after the crash but they sedated him in the trauma unit at the hospital. He is now been moved to ICU and remains sedated for the time being. They tell us he will be hospitalized for several weeks.

Good news. As of today Cliff is off the ventilator and breathing on his own. He is conscious and asking questions. Excellent progress.

For now he is still in ICU and is not yet ready for visitors but would probably appreciate get well cards.

I guess Jim Randall doesn't post these here... but this is the latest regarding Cliff Cook. It sounds much better!

Great news! I actually talked WITH Cliff today. He called to let me know that he is transferring to a rehab center today. That's great progress. He said the program will be pretty intense for a few days so he's not really ready to entertain visitors but it sounds like he's on his way back.
