Michigan Member Hospitalized
« on: September 05, 2014, 09:16:39 pm »
I got a call from Chip Ashton today. Seems as though a car pulled out in front of him yesterday (Thursday, Sept. 4) on Telegraph Road near Southfield. The next thing he remembers is being transported in an ambulance to Providence Hospital.

Providence Hospital
16001 W 9 Mile Rd
Southfield, MI 48075
(248) 849-3000

I imagine he'll be there a few days since his injuries are very similar (actually a little worse  :( ) to what mine were in July -
i.e. 9 or ten cracked or broken ribs, one broken collarbone, one cracked collarbone, a punctured lung and several areas that have road rash on his hands and legs.

Please wish Chip a fast and complete recovery. I'm sure he'll be up for calls and visitors within a day or so.

Ride Safe everyone!

Gregg Mitchell

Greg there was a Chip from Michigan that was at Texas Hill Country a couple of years ago.  We split a room and he rode with our group that Saturday.  Whether it's him or not I wish him a speedy recovery.

I had the opportunity to visit Chip this evening. He is in good spirits, talkative as usual, and is welcoming visitors. They are expecting him to be released late this week. Stop in if you can!

I spoke with Chip and Sylvia yesterday, and he is out of the hospital and in a rehab facility called Woodward Hills. It's in Bloomfield Hills on Woodward Ave. He is doing well and should be there for about 2 weeks.

I spoke with Chip a few days ago, and he is scheduled to be released and go home on Wednesday Oct 8th. He is doing well in his recovery.
