Quick questions:

1. How many of you are CPAs?

2. How many of you CPAs are familiar with Quickbooks?

3. How many of you non-CPAs are familiar with Quickbooks?

Norm,
We use Quickbooks to keep track of sales.  Use it to print invoices and record payments.  Also, used as a method to reconcile our deposits to the Treasurers Office.  Lots of departments are using it in a similar fashion.  It has a boat load of features we don't use.  I set it up for office and I'm definitely not an accountant.  Our infernal auditor has access to it to see if we don't have girlfriends in Argentina.  It is definitely geared to home or small businesses.  We are looking to replace it because too many people do use it in different ways.  Auditors don't like that and want one Accounting package across all offices.

Not a CPA and I'm not familiar with QuickBooks. With a little training I doubt it would be hard to learn though.

Thanks to those who responded. Some of us were researching ways to make the treasurer's job easier- one of those ideas involved Quickbooks, but there are other factors involved so QB is no longer under consideration.
