Well we are about 1/2 way through the summer rally season and while we have put several rallies behind us, we still have plenty more to come. Let’s take a look, shall we……
Coming up as soon as August the 10th-13th we have the Red River Gorge Rally, centered in the eastern park of the state. The rally HQ is the Comfort Inn, Mount Sterling, Kentucky. The routes travel all over the eastern part of the state, with special emphasis being the roads within the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Red River Gorge.
From August 21st-27th you’ll find a few hundred sport-touring enthusiasts gathering in the southeastern Ohio city of Marietta for the annual FlyBy Week rally. The largest rally of its kind found in the eastern US every year; FlyBy Week is a must-do for many of us. The location gives us the opportunity to explore roads in both Ohio and West Virginia, and to take in all the sights along the Ohio River valley.
In early September we move west for a short period and find the Ozarks Bull Shoals rally happening in Theodosia, Missouri. As the name says, this is located within the Ozarks Mountain region of the central US.
Later in the month we return to the eastern Appalachian Mountains and West Virginia, as the Fall Colors Rally takes place in Lewisburg, WV. A long standing traditional MSTA rally with a simple idea to just bring friends together in a casual atmosphere and ride wonderful roads in West Virginia.
October may be the last month of the year where we have rallies scheduled, but even though it is the last month, there are still 3 different rallies to choose from. We start off the month by going to Arkansas for the By-Way Boogie. Centered in Clarksville, which is located in the eastern part of the state. The routes run all through Arkansas and southern Missouri and offer up anything from tight and technical roads to wide open sweepers for your enjoyment.
October 12-15 will find the MSTA people gathering in Suches, Georgia for the Fall at Two Wheels of Suches rally. Two Wheels Only of Suches is such a famous motorcycle haven in the southeastern US that almost everyone is familiar with it. And I think that everyone has also heard about the absolutely wonderful roads located in the North Georgia and North Carolina region.
We close out our 2023 rally season by returning to the great state of Texas and the Hill Country Rally. The 30th anniversary of this event and destined to be one of the best yet. Some new routes, some old favorites, and plenty of fun and enjoyment for everyone.
You can find all the information you need about any of these vents by clicking on the Rally Calendar tab and then clicking on the individual events.
