EC News:

The Facebook group MSTA Members-Volunteers continues to grow and currently has
94 members. Norm Kern started this group so that members who are interested in
volunteering in some way to help promote the success of the club can communicate
easily and be in the know. If you are interested in joining the volunteer FB group, please
contact Norm Kern directly at nkernmsta@gmail.com.
Open positions have been filled!
Bill Rusk (OH) has agreed to become the Bike Raffle Coordinator! Thank you, Bill! Bill
will begin his duties with the bike being raffled at the 2025
Pat Mogavero (KY) has agreed to take on the duties of Membership Communications.
Thank you, Pat!
MSTA’s new website Paid Membership Pro: Due to ongoing difficulties encountered
with the company that was originally hired to build the web site, a US based contractor
has taken over the project and informed the EC that the site should be up and running
by the end of January.
STAR News:
STAR 2025 will be held in Williamsport Pennsylvania October 4-8. Hotel rates available
from October 2-8 are single and double $90.96 – Suites $100.96. Best Western Points
are eligible. They include a hot American buffet breakfast and Wi-Fi. MSTA has
reserved 180 rooms.
PLEASE DO NOT RESERVE YOUR ROOM BEFORE APRIL 1ST! To reserve your

The STAR Committee held its first official meeting 1/23/25. The committee currently
consists of the following members:

Dennis Villarose informed the EC that STAR 2025 will be his last rally as Star Czar. The
EC appreciates his hard work and dedication organizing past STAR events. Thank you

numerous events scheduled for 2025!

Each regional event is highlighted on the calendar and by clicking on an event, you get
a pop-up with that event’s website and registration information.
State Leaders and Information:
Nebraska State Director Richard Daniel asked to be promoted to regular member.

Norm Kern is looking for Volunteers to help with Rally Websites
Message from Norm: “We have 20 rallies for 2025 counting STAR. I started building
websites for MSTA club rallies in 2020 so they are all established and just need
maintenance and minor updates each year.
There are 4 sites that are built and maintained by event coordinators that I do not have
to work on, and only STAR (which is in a different location each year) and any new
events need to be built from scratch and I have templates. The sites are authored using
a free website builder called Mobirise that uses prebuilt blocks and requires no coding.
Most of the annual work is done in November and December when the next year’s
calendar is being worked out.
If you have any experience with creating simple websites, I can show you how to use
Mobirise and we work side by side through the entire year cycle. I will remain in charge
of the Flyby Week and Fall Colors sites and will remain heavily involved in the GPS
routes.

Now that the riding season is slowing down, consider taking some time to draft a story
and share some photos for publication in STAReview or your state newsletter!
