The Executive Committee (E.C.) recognizes that not all members are interested in getting club news from Facebook. We understand. In an effort to keep members informed about EC business, club happenings, and other important information, we are going to be sending out a monthly email blast. We will also have it posted up here on the MSTA Website. We hope you find it helpful!
EC News:
The E.C. met on 4-29-24. The EC is comprised of the following members who meet monthly to take care of MSTA business. If you are interested in what happens at these meetings, detailed minutes are posted after each meeting and can be found on the MSTA website www.ride.msta by clicking Document Files > Executive Committee Meeting Minutes. The next E.C. meeting is scheduled for 5-20-24.

Regional News:
We have a record-breaking number of 16 regional events this year. Two of them (Ozark Great Escape and Tusky-Musky Rally) have already happened, and according to postings by Jerry James and Doug McPeek they were both excellent. There are still 14 to go so be sure to register! You can access the list of regional rallies in the latest edition of STAReview. Web sites for all of the regional events have been posted. You can access Regional Rally websites by going to www.ridemsta.com then clicking on Rallies > Rally Calendar > Calendar + Schedule. Each regional event is highlighted on a calendar and by clicking on an event, you get a pop-up with that event’s website and registration information.
STAR update:
Dennis Villarose and Dianne Park gave a STAR report at the April EC meeting. They, along with several volunteers, have been working hard to make STAR 2024 in Kerrville, TX a memorable event! The most recent edition of STAReview (May/June 2024) has a preview of what to expect along with resources to help you prepare for your adventure. Perhaps you will win this year’s raffle bike, or the No-Mar Bike lift so generously donated by Sue and Steve Nemish. Don’t forget to get your raffle tickets!
Do you know your MSTA state director? Most of the states have a director who helps coordinate regional events such as breakfast/lunch rides and regional rallies and in some cases publishes a newsletter. State directors are a great resource if you have thoughts/ideas/concerns regarding your particular state. To contact your state director, go to www.ride.msta and click on Club Leaders > State Directors. All state directors (assuming your state has a director) and their email addresses are listed. If you don’t have a state director, volunteer! It’s a great way to get involved with the club.
Membership Information:
As of May 2024, there are 974 paid MSTA members. This includes 78 new members since January 1st. Thank you to those who have been instrumental in recruiting new members.
The MSTA Membership Survey has been closed. During the four weeks that the survey was posted, we received 188 responses (19% response rate). Many of the respondents provided thoughtful comments and valuable ideas and information that the EC is reviewing. Results will be shared with the membership in the next month or so. Thank you to those who responded! Feedback from our members is critical to making YOUR club the best it can be.
